Envello cladding gets an upgrade with Shadow Line+

After years of development, Millboard’s unbeatable cladding now has a fire-rated option.

Designed to replicate timber, Shadow Line+ has Envello’s authentic grain detail and variation but has also been rigorously trialled and tested in a UKAS accredited laboratory to achieve its fire rating.

Combining good looks with ease of installation and low maintenance, Shadow Line+ is hard to beat as a cladding product.

Due to popular demand from our customers, Shadow Line+ and it's new features were born. It's the natural evolution of the Envello product.

Thorough testing

Shadow Line+ has the same core construction as the rest of the range, but with the addition of specially developed fire-retardant components. The elastomer surface layer is harder and provides a greater level of fire resistance.

Millboard was particularly diligent in the way that it conducted its fire testing, going above and beyond standard industry practice to ensure that Shadow Line+ achieved its Euroclass D fire rating whilst replicating the conditions that it would be installed on site. This rigour should give those specifying materials on projects complete assurance when choosing to use Shadow Line+.

Ease of installation

Like the rest of the Envello range, Shadow Line+ is quick, clean and easy to fix in place. The boards lock together with a specially designed tongue and groove system for added rigidity and increased installation speed.

With its usual attention to detail, Millboard has also produced a range of fire rated accessories such as reveal boards, corner profiles and fixings, providing a complete fire rated system with a quality finish. The fixings are largely hidden within the overlap of the product, but where visible fixings are required, colour-headed screws are available to correspond with each of the cladding colours.

The harder surface layer of the Shadow Line+ board has given it additional rigidity which means that batten spacing can be increased to 600mm centres on site. The board is also wider than standard timber boards so there is larger grain detail for enhanced visual impact, but without the risk of the board twisting or warping over time.

Durable and low maintenance

Shadow Line+ is 100% wood-free, so the ends of the boards don’t require sealing to prevent moisture ingress, and it does not warp, rot or attract insects and pests like real wood or wood composites. The board has been profiled with oblique angles to prevent water collecting between two profiles, as well as helping rain water wash over the face. Shadow Line+ is lightweight, durable, robust and weather/fade resistant in comparison to alternative products, and there’s no need to paint, stain or seal it, making it incredibly easy to maintain.

Wide design choice with Shadow Line+

In addition to its other attributes, Shadow Line+ is also available in an extra colour to the four colours of the existing Envello range: Limed Oak. Highly popular within Millboard’s decking range, Limed Oak provides a refined design quality with its appearance of sun-drenched timber.

With the choice of five different colour finishes, and boards that can be used horizontally or vertically, it’s easy to achieve any look with Shadow Line+, be it traditional and rustic, or sleek and modern.
