What’s the role?

As our Business Development Manager you’ll be maximising the sales development and business relationships with your nominated accounts through face to face contact. You’ll be building solid business relationships, developing and maximising sales potential, and working closely with Marketing and Lead Generation to gain market knowledge and further business opportunities. The role will be roughly 80% Account Management and 20% New Business. 

You’ll be spending time with existing stockists and distributors to maintain relationships and supply product training and expertise to their staff. You’ll be well supported by Internal Sales colleagues to help you develop Accounts. 

Our Business Development Manager will be covering the entirety of Northern Ireland, working majorly in the field but also spending time at our Belfast office.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and develop business relationships whilst upholding brand reputation 
     
  • Work within the regional team to hit regional sales targets 
     
  • Visiting top distributors and key resellers to build sales relationships, managing appropriate merchandising and product train staff
     
  • Presenting technical information and solutions to Architects/Contractors when required, and supporting negotiation where appropriate
     
  • Working with Major Accounts team, Internal Business Development Executives and Specification teams to optimise regional sales
     
  • Continually develop industry knowledge, regulations needed and know-how 
     
  • Work with marketing to maximise potential and gain market insight
     
  • Maximise any office time by utilising the telephone and report on company systems
     
  • Complete notes within CRM system (Hubspot)
     
  • Work with internal business development executives to manage your calendar and book appointments with clients via CRM system
     
  • All other duties as assigned 
     
Your Background and Experience:
  • Previous experience of face-to-face selling / presenting is required
     
  • Previous experience in construction materials and working with distribution / builders merchants is highly preferred 
     
  • Previous experience in working in specification sales is preferred 
     
  • Previous experience of face-to-face selling/presenting is required
     
  • Sales Target and Customer centric driven
     
  • Practical knowledge & understanding of construction processes 
     
  • Builds relationship with client but be firm when needed 
     
  • Open and honest attitude to all 
     
  • Willing to learn and develop, with a self-starter mind-set and an enthusiastic ‘Can do’ attitude 
     
  • Proven ability of meeting and exceeding internal and external stakeholder requirements 
     
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change 
     
  • Self-motivated with initiative to continue improvement through communication and teamwork 
     
  • Able to demonstrate ability to achieve objectives and exceed expectations 
     
  • UK driving licence is essential
