Millboard Named a Culture 100 Award Winner

Recognising the most thriving companies to work for in the UK

We are delighted to announce that Millboard has been named a winner of the Culture 100 Award, one of the UK’s most rigorous and credible recognitions for workplace culture.

About the award

The Culture 100 is run by Maya, a global media and culture analytics platform, in partnership with Nielsen, the international consulting firm and leader in audience and employee measurement. It was created to recognise companies genuinely building thriving cultures, not those with the most polished employer brands. Over 4,200 UK companies applied for the 2026 cycle. Only 100 were selected.

The programme is underpinned by a community of over 1,000 People and Talent leaders across the UK and Europe and has grown into one of the most connected networks of its kind. Its mission is straightforward: to make companies that genuinely invest in their people the most celebrated in the world.

The selection process

One of the things that sets Culture 100 apart is the integrity of its process. Applications were judged by independent senior HR and People leaders from organisations including Accenture, Nielsen, and Angel.co. The final panel was held in person and filmed, an unusual level of transparency for an award of this kind. Millboard was assessed both on its application and through further questions about the culture we are building, how we support our people, and who thrives within the business.

Our culture

Millboard is a British, family-owned manufacturer. That heritage shapes how we work. Craftsmanship, pride in the product, and a long-term view, run through every part of the business, from our UK sites to our teams across the United States, France and Germany. As we have grown internationally, we have held ourselves to the same standards wherever the Millboard name appears.

Our culture is anchored in four values we call EPIC.

Empowerment means trusting people closest to the work to make good decisions. We want every colleague to feel capable and confident in their role, whether they are supporting a national trade partner or developing a new product specification.

Performance means holding ourselves to the highest standards, not because we are told to, but because we understand that every installation carrying our name is a reflection of what we stand for.

Integrity means operating honestly and transparently, internally and externally, and building the trust that is essential to long-term relationships.

Care means looking after our people, our partners, and the quality of everything we deliver.

Who thrives at Millboard

The Culture 100 panel asked us to describe the kind of person who thrives here. People who take ownership, take pride in quality, and build trust through honesty. People who are curious, adaptable, and energised by being part of a high-performance business with global reach. People who are humble enough to learn, hungry enough to push, and smart enough to read a room.

We do not claim to have a perfect culture. We have a genuine commitment to building one, and a team that holds us accountable to it every day.

Looking ahead

Being recognised as one of the UK’s most thriving workplaces is something we are genuinely delighted about. It reflects the work of every Millboard colleague who brings our EPIC values to life in how they show up for each other and for our customers. We will continue to invest in our people, strengthen our leadership, and create an environment where everyone feels empowered to do their best work.

Culture is never finished. It is built continuously, and this recognition is both a mark of progress and a reminder of what we are working towards.

Our thanks to every member of the Millboard team, past and present, whose contributions have shaped this.
