Following extensive trials, we recommend and supply Durafix® stainless steel screws. These screws are designed specifically for Millboard decking and are a requirement of our limited warranty.

There’s no need to pre-drill or countersink Millboard decking. The unique Lastane® material coating flexes back over the screw heads, leaving a minimal witness mark. This may be more visible in lighter colors, such as Driftwood. If you find that some screws leave larger witness marks, please contact Millboard. To achieve the best finish, please follow our decking installation guides at all times.

Millboard decking is designed and manufactured to mimic the beauty of real oak without the drawbacks of natural materials. Our boards are hand-colored to have natural variations. Buying all the Millboard decking you need at the same time should help ensure consistent color.

We recommend laying out and mixing the boards before installation to ensure the deck has the desired overall variation and showcases the product’s character and individuality.

Since Millboard is made from a resin-mineral composition (100% wood-free), it is more stable than wood or wood-based composites. The acceptable amount of movement is up to 0.2%. We recommend leaving a 5/32 of an inch gap between the sides of Enhanced Grain boards and a 1/25 of an inch gap between the ends of the boards. Leave a 3/8 inch gap between the boards and any solid surface to aid drainage.
